Celebrate the holidays at Heifer Farm with all of the animals that are changing lives around the world. Meet the cows, pigs, sheep, llamas, rabbits, chickens and other barnyard animals at our Living Gift Market. Children can meet with Santa and talk about the importance of giving. You can also take a memorable holiday photo with a goat, enjoy a scenic hayride, warm up with homemade soup, hot cocoa and cider, roast chestnuts, decorate gingerbread cookies, make international crafts and shop at the Donation Station, Fair Trade gift shop, winter farm stand and bake sale. Admission is free with a canned good donation!

A Grower’s Seminar with Roger Swain & Lee Reich

Join NOFA-RI (Northeast Organic Farming Association of RI) for this special event with two nationally known experts sharing experience, techniques and humor in backyard and small farm growing.

Lee Reich will discuss growing methods and marketing potential for fruit varieties not well known but rich in flavor and good for organic and pesticide-free growing, as well as present best practices for no-till techniques.

Roger Swain, always informative and entertaining, will impart practical advice for backyard and small farms in the larger context of how gardening sustains us, personally and collectively. With wit and wisdom, Roger both inspires and educates.

Registration rates from $45-65.

A Growers' Seminar With PBS Roger Swain & Lee Reich

A day with two nationally known experts sharing their experience, techniques and humor in backyard and small farm growing. Topics include uncommon fruits of the Northeast and no-till growing.
Roger Swain in know to many from his years of hosting the popular PBS show "Victory Garden". Lee Reich, PhD and his farmden have been featured in such publications as the New York Times and Martha Stewart Living, has won awards from National Gardening and Organic Gardening magazines.
There will be three session during the day and a POTLUCK LUNCH.

Winter Growing in Unheated Tunnels

In this Winter Growing on farm workshop, Mike and Kelli Roberts of Roots Farm will show winter crops in their low tunnels and moveable high tunnels and discuss crop selection, rotation, planting schedules and tunnel logistics.
