Description
This Thursday Supper will feature Weatherlow Burgers (Beef, Lamb, and Goat), and the best, freshest produce coming out of the ground that week. Join us for an evening of fabulous food, incredible views and delicious beer.

Thursday Suppers are casual dining experiences at the farm. A range of hyper-seasonal dishes are prepared from local ingredients by Culinary Director Beau Vestal and his team. Family friendly, these are wonderful summer evening farm events. Children five years and under are free. Vegetarian options are available.

Burgers will be grilled on-site. Indoor and outdoor seating is available to enjoy supper and the sunset.

Crop rotation is a systematic approach used for farm and garden planning to enhance soil fertility and reduce soil-borne diseases. Berry Production

This workshop gives an overview of berry growing, including blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries and shares tips on selecting fruit varieties that have good flavor and grow well locally. Host farmers Jan and Michelle Eckhart will touch on netting systems, pruning and common diseases. Sweet Berry Farms practices IPM (Integrated Pest Management) and sustainable agriculture techniques. Learn about some of the natural and biological methods used to minimize insects and disease, allowing low or no spray. Jan will share how understanding the behavior of pests and can impact IPM methods.

Irrigation Systems for Specialty Crops

This workshop will look at effective water-saving irrigation systems through different methods, such as a trickle/drip system, subirrigation, centre pivot and field sprinklers. You'll learn factors to consider when choosing which type of irrigation system to use.

The Historic Metcalf-Franklin Farm Preservation Association, a volunteer, 501c3 organization currently runs Franklin Farm. The farm works to produce food for those experiencing food insecurities and is currently the largest producer of farm fresh food for the RI Community Food Bank.
