Heifer International's Holiday Open House

Celebrate the holidays with Heifer International and all of the animals that are changing lives around the world. Meet the cows, pigs, sheep, llamas, rabbits, chickens and other barnyard animals, and learn how they help end world hunger. While you’re here, take a memorable holiday photo with a goat! You can also enjoy a scenic wagon ride, warm up with homemade soup, hot cocoa, roast chestnuts and marshmallows, decorate gingerbread cookies and make international crafts. Honor loved ones with Alternative Gifts for a family in need, and shop at the Fair Trade gift shop and bake sale to support Heifer’s mission of ending world hunger. Admission: Canned goods to donate to the Worcester County Food Bank.

Celebrate the rich mosaic of our Providence community at the beautiful, tropical Roger Williams Park Botanical Center! FREE admission with a canned good.

Featuring Bollywood Dance, Storytelling, Latin Dance, Congolese drumming, Educational Tables, Tours: Connecting Plants to Culture, Family Activities, Food Vendors and more! Learn what URI Extension and our partners have in store for 2016 at the Botanical Center.

Getting there? Free shuttle transportation from:
West End Community Center (Bucklin St.)
Community Action Partnership of Providence (Hartford Ave.)
Dorcas Institute (Elmwood Ave.)
Shuttles will depart the Botanical Center at 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm.
