The mission of the Bionutrient Food Association (BFA) is, “Increasing Quality in the Food Supply.” The BFA is a tax exempt charitable organization.

Today, especially our children, need to consume on average greater than double the amount of Broccoli to get the same amount of Calcium, and greater than triple the amount of Collard Greens to get the same amount of Iron, that we once got from eating those vegetables back in 1975!

The 2011 Nutrient Guide (http://www.bionutrient.org/library/documents) shows the extremely sad state of the quality of the average crop. The BFA is championing better and improved methods utilizing knowledge and understanding of Biological Systems and identifying limiting factors on the genetic potential of our crops. For example, the average tomato plant produces approximately 5 – 8 pounds of tomatoes, yet the genetic potential is greater than 150 pounds! To learn more, please visit the BFA website: http://www.bionutrient.org/.

Recently, Dan Kittredge, Executive Director of the BFA, was interviewed by the Quaboag Current, a local newspaper, and one can read the article here: http://www.bionutrient.org/news/farmer-stresses-quality-over-quantity

Thank you in advance for your help in sharing with others this information on this upcoming wonderful 2-session Workshop on Bionutrient Rich Crop Production and about the BFA! TOGETHER, We Will Make And Have Better Quality Food!
