Plowing the Wilbraham Community Garden

Teamsters and their horses will be returning to the garden to prepare the soils for the growing season of 2011. Vendors from the Wilbraham and Hampden Farmers' Markets will be participating in this fun event.
The Pioneer Valley Fiddlers will play between the hours of 12:00 and 1:00 check them out on their website www.poineervalleyfiddlers.com.
There will be food, hay rides and plant and craft vendors. The horses will start to work at approximately 10:30 and should continue throughout the day. Bring a chair, camera and enjoy the show.

RTR Wine and Cheese

Wine, cheese and other local flavors complemented by a talented jazz quintet that will be followed by brief presentations by the Revive the Roots Foundation Board Members and guest speakers. There will also be a silent auction at this event.

The entrance fee is $25. Please make checks payable to The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council for tax exemption.

All proceeds will benefit the foundation in their first farming season! Our "wishlist" includes: deer-netting, pots and potting soil, irrigation equipment, gardening tools, building materials, etc.

Markets of New England Book Launch Party

I am teaming up with Farm Fresh Rhode Island to celebrate the launch of my first book, Markets of New England. Join us for food, music, raw cooking demonstrations, book signings and more! The party will take place in the Greenhouse room, at Hope Artiste Village on May 14, 2011, from 7-9pm. All proceeds from the book will be donated to Farm Fresh.

Markets of New England showcases 50 of the most unique and thriving farmers markets and art events in the region. The message of the book, and of the party, is to support local artists and farmers in an effort to preserve community and develop a thriving local economy. The book has generated interest nationwide, and will be sold at Anthropologie stores, as well as featured in a number of prominent publications, including the Boston Globe, Yankee, and Budget Travel.
