Please join us for Apeiron’s next Evolution Forum! This month we will highlight Recycling in Rhode Island: Where we have been, where we are and where we want to be.
This month’s forum will feature presentations by experts from the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation, the Providence Department of Public Works, Clean Water Action and the Environmental Justice League; all of whom are involved in Recycling projects in Rhode Island.
Topics will include the Mission and Objectives of the “New” RIRRC, the No Bin/No Barrel Initiative only recently instituted in Providence, Producer Responsibility and Green Block Captain Trainings recently performed in Providence.
Join Apeiron as we look at how we can create a culture in RI where concepts such as “cradle to cradle” and “closed loop” can become more commonplace in how all Rhode Islanders view resource use.
So, become part of the RI Recycles Movement by bringing your friends, family and neighbors, your insightful questions and brilliant ideas for future recycling efforts and, by doing so, join us in our efforts to make RI the first Sustainable State in the Nation!

A Winter Market featuring local foods brought by area farmers and foodmakers will gather monthly indoors at Plimoth Plantation. Thursday December 17, Gingerbread House workshop will be offered by the Artisan Kitchen, the Film "Fresh" will be shown, the Plantation shops will be open and a concert of holiday music will be performed by the Lindsays.
Fresh eggs, herbs and lettuce greens, grassfed meats, farmstead cheeses, hearth breads, a rainbow of preserves, pies, take home foods and more surprises await the hungry visitor.
You may also reserve foods for later day pick up by shopping online, www.plymouthfarmersmarket.org, starting December 9th.
Admission is FREE. A suggested donation toward seeing the film will be shared with the Greater Plymouth Food Warehouse. Thank you for appreiciating local foods!

Adam Montri is an outreach specialist in the Horticulture Department at Michigan State University (MSU) where he coordinates outreach efforts for the MSU Student Organic Farm (SOF) focused on hoophouses/high tunnels and sustainable and organic production and marketing with both urban and rural farmers across the state of MI. Adam was one of the original student organic farmers while an undergraduate at MSU. He received his master's degree in Horticulture from Penn State University where he focused on organic high tunnel tomato production. He and his wife, Dru, and daughter, Lydia, own Ten Hens Farm in Bath, MI.
