A bit about Stump Sprouts Guest Lodge
Stump Sprouts is a rustic guest lodge and retreat center situated atop a high pasture on an old 400 acre farm in Hawley.

Spring, summer and fall we cater to small groups of all types looking for a space to gather away from the noise and congestion of everyday surroundings.

Family reunions, whitewater adventurer groups, small weddings, retreats, cycling groups, writing and movement workshops exemplify typical uses for our facility.

In the winter we operate a cross country ski center, complete with groomed trails, rental skis and snowshoes and professional instruction.

Simple overnight accommodations, Wonderful food, several common areas, a wood-fired sauna and a rec room are available to guests all seasons.

Summer guests enjoy our large gardens, a patio surrounded by perennial beds with big views in every direction and miles of hiking right from our door.

One of our guiding philosophies for the past 30 years has been to minimize our impact on the environment while providing a place for people to enjoy the beauty that this place has to offer. The buildings and furnishings have been handcrafted from our own timber which was milled locally.

We try to either grow our own or purchase local fruits, vegetables and dairy products as much as possible.

All buildings are heated with wood from the land here. Thanks to aggressive conservation efforts we are able to produce almost all of our electricity from solar panels. 80% of our trash is recycled composted or re-used. Simple living with an emphasis on what really matters…

Please consider Stump Sprouts as a venue for your next gathering…
