Providence, RI 02903
Carlo Carlozzi, the popular bartender at Ten Prime Steak and Sushi for the past decade, opened Circe, his first restaurant.
The menu consists of American-infused, Mediterranean dishes and drinks that are "exotic and special."
The name Circe refers to a goddess in Greek mythology who made potions that turned men into animals, the four-legged kind.
"What's better than that?" Carlozzi said in a interview. "I make potions, too!"
Working with Carlozzi to develop the drink menu is bar manager Kyle Poland. The two worked together at Ten.
Chef Simon Keating leads the kitchen and developed the menu at Circe. He most recently headed up the kitchen at XO Cafe. His menu includes small plates in the $10 range and entrees that are priced under $30.
Circe is open 7 days a week and serves lunch & dinner and has plans for music on Fridays for the after work crowd, 4:30-6 p.m and then later from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.
