A little about Mowry Gardens
Revive the Roots is a RI non-profit organization that runs Mowry Gardens in Smithfield. We are currently planting forest gardens, which are human food producing forests and habitats. Included in the forest gardens are fruit and nut trees, berry patches, hundreds of strawberry plants, fruiting vines, and herbs. Once mature, this diverse ecosystem will be somewhat self-sustaining and serve as a public agro-botanic garden, the first commercial garden of its kind in our state.

We also grow some vegetables in the spring, host community building events and seminars in the gardens, and rent garden plots to community members starting in April. Eventually, we plan on having some animal production and many more trees planted next year and in the years to come.

If you would like to visit our farm or the pine forest on our property, please feel free to visit! We encourage public interest and participation in our project.

Call, email, or visit revivetheroots.org for more information. Thanks for your interest!
