  • Events and celebrations
    Mid-April through October. 11am until dark.
    Come celebrate a very special birthday down on the farm! Tamma Duffy and her staff can help organize any birthday and guarantee memories that will last forever. Bring your own cake, and top of the sweetness with your choice of 60 flavors of ice cream, sherbet, sorbet, or yogurt ! Open gifts either inside the ice cream stand watching the cows, or outside under a shady tree on a sunnny day next to the pond. Next feed the animals and go on a tour of the farm, or a nature walk! Spending your very special day outside in the sunshine is sure to be remembered by all your friends and family.
  • Farm tours
    Mid- April through October. Every Saturday and Sunday to the general public! Weekday tours by appointment only and are FREE as well. The Park Interpreter is trained to educate tours of large size- including school field trips, nursing home trips, and summer camp outings!
    Farm tours are availble FREE to the public. The Park Interpreter will guide you through the farm where you will learn about a day in the life of an average dairy farmer, fun cow facts, visit the nursery of newborn calves, and see the milkroom and the giant tank that holds the milk prior to shipping to Cabot Creamery, Bliss Dairy where the sixty flavors of ice cream are made, and Columbo Yogurt! Every Sunday evening a milking tour takes place in which you see and learn everything as a regular tour PLUS see the sixty five Holstein ladies being milked!
  • Petting zoo
    Great Brook Farm petting zoo is open year-round, but the prime time is mid-April through October. The cost is FREE, and there are feed machines which for $0.25 you can feed the animals.
    Goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, and a young stock of Holstein cows are availbe to feed and pet. Watch out- Ebony the goat is a fiesty one. Ebony is famous for jumping up on the fense and begging for food. The goat Sierra loves to jump on her wooden spools. Come welcome out newest additions: Patzee and her baby Patience! Don't forget about those crazy pigs always snorting, rolling, and moving their house all over their pen!

A little about Great Brook Farm State Park
Dairy barn tours are available to the public for FREE on the weekends and by appointment on the weekdays. Come hike, mountain bike, have a picnic, fly a kite, walk the trails with your family, bring your own canoe and paddle the ponds, or trailer you horse and blaze the 1,000 acres of trails. Visit our petting zoo and feed the goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, and ducks. 130 Holstein cows reside at the farm and the ladies are some of the top producing cows in New England! Enjoy a phenomenal ice cream cone of your choice from 60 flavors of ice cream, yogurt, sorbet, and sherbet. Have a hot dog and cool down with a freeze or creamsicle drink. Feeling really hungry? How about a Bananna Split with your choice of 3 flavors and 3 toppings! Or if you're feeling a little nutty our Peanut Butter M & M sundae is sure to calm you down! Take a look through the glass viewing window and watch the cows in the barn. If you're lucky, you may even see a cow give birth! An observational beehive is located in the stand too and the honey from the Duffy's locally grown cranberry bog (within walking distance from Great Brook Farm State Park) is sold at the ice cream stand.
