20 weeks. Pickup at farm or at West Cornwall Market CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is about creating community and connecting individuals and families to their food and farmers. In essence, Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food. By joining a CSA you share in the risks and rewards of the farming season and help to preserve active farmland in our community. The goal for the CSA is to provide fresh produce for 20 weeks, mid-June through the end of October. We will be growing over 35 crops giving you the chance to eat a variety of vegetables and fruits, try new foods, and meet new people. Our focus is on popular annuals including but not limited too: lettuce, spinach, cabbage, carrots, broccoli, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, and more. In addition to crops that we harvest for the weekly share we also grow a number of Pick-Your-Own crops. These crops include peas, beans, cherry tomatoes, hot peppers, herbs, husk cherries, and flowers. In the spring of 2009 we will plant strawberries and raspberries for picking in future seasons. You will be able to come to the farm once a week and pick a specified quantity of these crops when they are available. Shares will be boxed and available for pickup on Saturday’s either at the farmers market in West Cornwall or at the farm. Enough food should be provided to feed two people who love vegetables or a family who enjoys salads and side dishes. I will be in touch about exact start and end dates as they are weather dependant.

What is CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture, often shortened to CSA, is a prepaid subscription to a farm's produce for the season. Most CSAs give shareholders a weekly supply of veggies, herbs, fruits and sometimes even eggs and meat. You know it's fresh and you get to meet the farm and people who grew your food! The prepaid CSA arrangements also makes it a source of financial security for the farmer. Some CSAs also incorporate farm workdays for shareholders. Pickup days vary by farm and there are pickup locations across Local.

CSAs have been very popular recently. Be sure to sign up early before subscriptions are filled!
